Parents share experiences during Hasson career day

Wyatt Drake, 7, loved drilling holes in wood after the presentation given by local machinist, Jacob Wimer. Wimer is employed by Wabtech in Grove City and was at Hasson Heights Elementary School Friday for career day.

Hasson Heights Elementary School in Oil City held its sixth annual career day on Friday, introducing kindergarten through fourth-grade students to 11 different careers, ranging from traditional roles like attorney and veterinarian to unique ones like museum staff and machinist. Due to high parent volunteer turnout, the school plans to host a second career day. Teacher Erin Bomboy praised the event for exposing students to a wide variety of local career options, with one highlight being a story from the Venango Museum about circus elephants playing in the Oil City river.
