PennWest Clarion ETS sponsors hands-on culinary experience

Middle and high school students in PennWest Clarion’s Educational Talent Search program recently took part in Souper Chef II, a hands-on culinary career exploration and student soup cookoff held at Hand in Hand Christian Counseling Center in Franklin. The program taught kitchen safety, knife skills, food prep, teamwork and creativity while introducing students to culinary and hospitality careers, with guidance from internationally trained chef Danielle Benson. ETS, a federally funded TRIO program serving more than 800 students annually across 10 districts, aims to support students from underserved backgrounds on their path to postsecondary education.
