The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced in a press release the extension of the closure of Pilgrimham Bridge on Route 208 in Salem Township.
The Pilgrimham Bridge will remain closed through Sunday for the replacement of the existing structure that carries Route 208 over Turkey Run, the release said.
To detour from the western side of the bridge, motorists will follow Route 208 west to Interstate 80 eastbound to Route 338 north to Route 208 west, the release said. Those traveling from the eastern side of the closure will reverse the westbound detour route. The Amish and bike detour from western side of the bridge will travel Nickelville Road (T-900) to Baker Road (T-321) to Ron McHenry Road (T-861). Those traveling from the eastern side of the closure will reverse the westbound detour route.
Route 208 at the bridge will operate under short-term lane closures controlled with flaggers as crews complete earthwork, seeding and miscellaneous finish work from Aug. 4 through September, according to the release.
Contractor, S.E.T., Inc. of Lowellville, OH, will be completing this $1.26 million project with an anticipated completion in September, the release said.
