Titusville woman behind bars after allegedly attempting to shoot husband

Samruay McCracken, 61, of Titusville, faces charges after allegedly attempting to shoot her husband during a domestic dispute at their Cherrytree Township home on Friday morning. According to police, McCracken became angry over a woodworking project blocking a doorway, locked her husband out, and then fired a gun at him when he re-entered. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot, and McCracken admitted to police that she had threatened to shoot her husband and fired one shot. She is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor for possession of an instrument of crime. Denied bail for showing “extreme indifference to the value of human life,” McCracken is in Venango County Jail, with a preliminary hearing set for December 4.
