Venango County exceeds 10,000 total COVID-19 cases

According to the latest state Department of Health statistics, the cumulative number of positive COVID-19 tests in Venango County has surpassed 10,000.

In addition, the average number of daily cases reported from the tri-county area over the past seven days again has increased.

The average number of daily cases, from Jan. 12-18, were as follows:

Venango County, with a total of 533 cases, had an average of 76.1 cases per day. That represents an increase of 22.5 cases from the previous seven-day period, Jan. 5-11.

Clarion County, with a total 366 cases, had an average of 52.3 cases per day. That represents an increase of 2.7 cases from the previous seven-day period.

Forest County, with a total of 79 cases, had an average of 11.3 cases per day. That represents an increase of 4.0 cases from the previous seven-day period.

Venango County reported four deaths, Clarion County reported two deaths and Forest County reported no deaths in the most recent seven-day period.
