Woman charged for sex assault of boy, 14

From staff reports

A Richland Township woman is facing felony charges for engaging in a months-long sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy.

Franklin state police said the relationship between Brooke Rhin, 23, and the boy was discovered in September when troopers responded to an inactive domestic situation at Rhin’s residence.

Rhin admitted to the relationship and sexual contact, and she told officers the boy “consistently stayed at her residence for an extended period of time while he was required to be in school,” a criminal complaint said.

Rhin also told police she used her phone to communicate with the boy about their relationship. She said the relationship included sending naked photographs and videos, text messages and other communications, the complaint said.

She was charged with felony counts of statutory sexual assault-4-8 years older, unlawful contact with a minor-sexual offenses, corruption of minors-defendant age 18 or above and criminal use of communication facility. She was also charged with a misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.

A preliminary arraignment is scheduled today before District Judge Patrick Lowrey.
