Yet more winter weather inbound

Those with New Year’s Eve plans should proceed with caution as the region is under yet another winter weather advisory starting on New Year’s Eve into the morning of New Year’s Day.

Three to five inches of snow are expected from 1 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 10 a.m. on New Year’s Day, according to the advisory from the National Weather Service.

Snow squall conditions are also possible during the evening and overnight.

The NWS said travel could be “very difficult,” and the hazardous conditions could impact commutes. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling.

The advisory comes on the heels of an ice storm that hit the region Friday, along with high winds, a sudden drop in temperatures and several snow squalls that dumped as much as six inches of snow on the area on Monday and continuing into Tuesday.
