Nifty at 90: Oil City man worked the Army mess hall with Elvis

Today’s Nifty at 90 feature celebrates Paul Meagher of Oil City, a devoted family man, Army veteran, and lifelong sports enthusiast. Paul served 21 years in the Army, including time in the mess hall where Elvis Presley once sang while cleaning tables. After his service, he remained active in the Reserves and National Guard, traveling the world. Known for his love of softball, bowling, golf, and even cornhole, Paul has always put his heart into everything he does. He married JoAnne Carey-Krepp in 1971, adopting her four daughters the same day, and together they built a life filled with camping, gardening, and family traditions. Though JoAnne passed in June 2024, Paul remains cherished by his daughters, who describe him as their everyday superhero.
