PennDOT workers memorial on display

The Traveling Workers Memorial is being displayed at the Venango County Maintenance building in Franklin. The memorial is open to visitors through Aug. 7.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) statewide Traveling Workers Memorial is on display at its Venango County Maintenance Office 1460 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin, now through Aug. 7.

The memorial features 93 white stands, each adorned with a hard hat and safety vest along with a date and the name of a PennDOT employee who died while serving the residents of Pennsylvania.

PennDOT is asking people to avoid parking along the shoulder of the roadway while visiting.

The memorial may also be visited during daylight hours and on the weekend while the office is closed.
