C-L students find roaring success with Lion Manufacturing

Visitors from as far as California attended an open house at Clarion-Limestone High School to explore Lion Manufacturing, a student-run enterprise now in its third year that has grown into a self-sustaining, reputable operation with support from the Northwest Industrial Resource Center. Students in grades 9–12 take on roles in manufacturing, sales, marketing, and more, producing everything from sheds and CNC projects to custom woodwork while gaining hands-on career skills. During the event, attendees toured the facility, heard from student leaders, and learned how the program’s structure—modeled like a real company—has inspired other districts, including California’s Ceres Unified School District, to pursue similar student-led manufacturing programs.
