Clinton Twp. fire displaces family of 6

From staff reports

A family of six, including four children, were displaced after a fire destroyed their home in Clinton Township on Sunday evening, according to Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Brayden Rea. There were no injuries.

The fire at 238 Hovis Road was reported at about 10 p.m., and when firefighters arrived on the scene they found smoke showing from the right side of the home and were able to quickly extinguish the fire, Rae said.

The fire’s origin, Rae said, was a wood burner and the fire extended to the attic.

Though the house was a total loss, Rae said firefighters were able to save the home’s contents, including four guinea pigs and a rabbit.

Volunteer fire departments from Emlenton, Pine Township, Marion Township, Harrisville, Eau Claire, Slippery Rock, Rockland and Kennerdell also responded, according to Clintonville Fire Chief Grant Rea.

The Grove City rapid intervention team also responded, according to Brayden Rea, and Emlenton Area Ambulance service responded as well, according to Venango County 911.

Brayden Rea said the scene was cleared at about 11:15 p.m.
